Check-list to complete for foreign patients before arriving in Russia for medical services

Trip for Treatment

The visa validity period is sufficient to receive planned medical services in full

Travel-insurance has been purchased

Tickets purchased subject to the conditions of return

The trip for treatment does not fall on national holidays in the Russian Federation

Received information about items that are prohibited for transportation in baggage and hand luggage

Received information about baggage allowance

Received information about the procedure for filling out the migration card (arrival-departure record)

Received information about the procedure for filling out the customs declaration

A certificate from your attending medical doctor on permission to fly has been received

Received a discharge epicrisis with information on the diagnosis and the drugs used (for the flight)

Accommodations have been reserved with regard to the distance to the medical organization

Airport and other transfers have been addressed and planned

Wheelchair or other necessary assistance at the airport of departure and arrival have been made

Received information on how the patient will be met at the airport

Copies of personal and medical documents have been digitized

Received information about the operation of SIM cards of mobile phone service providers in the Russian Federation

The medications taken by the patient have been purchased with a sufficient reserve

Received information on vaccinations necessary for arrival in the Russian Federation

Appropriate clothing has been purchased/packed to meet needs based on climate in the Russian Federation

Emergency Communication

Received information on the working hours of the international department

Received the contact information of your coordinator of the medical organization

Received the contact information of the manager of the employee-coordinator of the medical organization

Communication with the coordinator in a messaging app (WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram) has been established

Costs and Payments

The estimated preliminary cost of medical services has been fixed and agreed upon in correspondence with an employee of the medical organization

Received information on possible reasons for an increase in costs

Received information on the need to transfer a deposit for treatment to the medical organization

Received information on whether Value Added Tax (VAT) is included or not in the agreed upon cost of treatment

Received information about the methods of payments (cash or bank card) accepted by the medical organization

Received information about currency exchange and the current exchange rates

The bank that issued your debit/credit cards has been notified of possible large transactions abroad

The price list for non-medical services has been received

Health Services

The date and time of the patient’s initial appointment at the medical organization has been confirmed

The coordinator speaks a language that is convenient for the patient

Received the address of the medical organization both in Russian and English

The issue of placement of the patient’s legal representative during hospitalization has been resolved

Services agreed to by the medical organization and patient are clear and understood including what is included and not included in the price

Received information about the future attending physician

Received information about the list of mandatory items for hospitalization

Received information on the patient’s insurance in case of medical error or complications

Received information about doctors in the patient’s home country who cooperate with a medical organization for post-treatment support
